Article body

Brokers project mixed-to-negative outlooks for the Thai stock market on Monday, as DELTA’s underwhelming second-quarter results weigh on the broader market. Despite improved global market sentiment on eased Middle East tensions, local equities are pressured by declines in both the energy and petrochemical sectors as oil prices recede. TISCO Securities expects the Thai benchmark to decline in early trade, as DELTA’s weaker-than-expected 2Q26 performance overshadows the generally positive global environment after the latest weekend saw no major new attacks in the Middle East. The drop in oil prices, stemming from this geopolitical calm, is also expected to exert downward pressure on energy-related shares. The securities firm recommends investors closely monitor upcoming central bank meetings from the Federal Reserve, Bank of England, and Bank of Japan. The analyst firm set a support level for the SET Index at 1,620 points, and a resistance level 1,650 – 1,660 points. Daol Securities stated that the Thai bourse volatility may continue this week, citing persistent selling in technology stocks and major names such as PTTEP and DELTA following the latter’s earnings shortfall. Ongoing developments in U.S.-Iran negotiations remain a key factor to monitor. The brokerage firm projects the SET Index to fluctuate within a range of 1,610 – 1,650 points over the week. Last Friday, Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,644.39 points, increased 3.36 points or 0.20%, with a trading value of THB 89.28 billion.
